A beautiful hill station with
tranquil forests and quiet rivers, Chitrakoot also holds
special importance for the Hindus. It was here that Rama and
Sita spent 11 years of their exile; Sati Anusuya and sage Atri
meditated here; and the Hindu Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and
Mahesh took their incarnations. Apart from this,

|
|
|
the famous poet Abdul Rahim Khankhana, one of the nine jewels of Akbar's
court, took shelter here from Jahangir.
