Physiographic Regions-
Most of the Madhya Pradesh
is a part of Peninsular with hills and plains.
Madhya
Pradesh can be divided into
the three major Physiographic
regions. |

Rivers-
The rivers
of the Madhya Pradesh Flow in all the directions, the
north flowing rivers are the Chambal, Betwa, Ken and
Son. These are the rivers of the Ganga river system. The
Chambal River is the main southern tributary of the
river Yamuna. |
|
Climate-
The climate of Madhya Pradesh is
monsoonal. The tropic of Cancer passes through the
northern part of Madhya Pradesh; therefore, it gets
warmer after 21st march.

Soils-
Three important soils - black, red
, yellow and alluvial are
found in Madhya Pradesh.

The Flora &
Fauna-
The
forests cover 1,55,414.27 square kilometres, about
35.07% of the geographical area of Madhya Pradesh.
53.52% of these forests is reserved forest, 42.27% is
protected forest and 4.21% is unclassified forest. |

Minerals-
Madhya
Pradesh is the second richest state after Bihar
regarding its Mineral resources. About 50 Manganese, 44%
Bauxite, 35 percent Coal and 30 percent of Iron ore of
India is found only in Madhya Pradesh. The state
produces minerals worth Rs. 2,360 crore - about 25
percent of the minerals revenue of India.
