The
climate of Madhya Pradesh is monsoonal. The tropic of Cancer passes
through the northern part of Madhya Pradesh; therefore, it gets warmer
after 21st march.
During this time in the southern
districts Raipur (27.7°c), Bastar (36.3°c), the temperature remains
high, while it remains low in the northern and western districts
Gwalior (23.3°c), Indore (24.6°c), Hoshangabad (26.2°c). |

After this
time the temperature gradually increases in the northern Madhya
Pradesh and reaches to about 42°c in May-June. The rainy season starts
from mid-June.
Most
of the rain falls through southwest monsoon in between June and
September. The southern and southwest monsoon in between June and
September. The southern and south-eastern
parts are the regions of high rainfall. The Mandla, Balaghat, Sindhi,
Surgua, Raigarh and Bastar districts receive more than 125 cm
Rainfall. The districts of western Madhya Pradesh receive less than 75
cm rainfall.
The northern Madhya Pradesh gets rainfall in between 75
and 125 cm. Few cyclonic spells come during
December and January. The temperature remains low in northern parts in
comparisons to the southern parts. |
