Lanji assembly
area, of Balaghat district is located on the Maharashtra and
Chhatisgarh border. Naksali activities of both the areas do
leave an impact here also. Former minister and former Vice
President of assembly Narmadaprasad Shrivastava whose
elected area was Lanji. Impact of Samajwadi's is very much
here. After splitting of Samajwadi, Congress and BJP had an
big opportunity to make its hold. Cancellation of elections
also happened here because of changing of the parties.
During 1990 elections, winner Dilip Bhatere had to face this
problem. But after that he won the by election in this area. |
