Kiranapur
assembly area of Balaghat is among those places where the
Naksali also participate in the election. This area was the
former minister Likhiram Kanwer's elected area. In 1998, he
was murdered by the naksali's. This area is having a strong
hold of Congress. Other than 1980 elections, all elections
were won by the Congress. No effect of caste equation is
seen on this area. Development or any other matter do not
become an issue for the elections. Talks are made to make
the area naksali free but by the time when election comes it
goes away. BJP is trying to make it's hold there. |
