Chandla Assembly was found in 1977. Earlier it used to come under Laudi Assembly area.

The winner from this seat Mohd. Gani Ansari during BJP rule was the minister. Having a majority of Brahmins voters, Satyavarth Chaturvedi is having a good image. So much that without him Congress cannot achieve victory. Early victory of Samajwadi Party was due to staying away of Satyavarth Chaturvedi from elections. In this area, caste equations do not have so much impact.
